We had a post about the gorgeous Yvette Vickers a while ago who posed for one of the most provocative Playboy centrefolds ever, for July 1959.
Sadly, we have just found out that she has been discovered dead at her Hollywood home at the age of 82.

Whilst this is a good age, tragically she may have been dead for up to a year and no-one noticed until a neighbour forced her way into the house having spotted a build up of yellowing post. Apparently her heaters were still on which had left her body "mummified".
A sad and lonely end for a beautiful woman.
Here at Venus Observations we do realise that beauty is transitory which is why we celebrate those artists who catch and preserve it forever for the benefit of the rest of us.
So we will remember Yvette in her prime (which was over thirty at the time) as photographed (largely) by Russ Meyer in 1959.
